Microsoft Outlook Express on Windows

POP3 email configuration: Outlook Express / Windows

These directions should work for most recent Microsoft Outlook Express versions, running on Microsoft Windows 98 and later.

Microsoft Outlook Express on Windows
1) Launch Outlook Express
2) Under "Tools" select "accounts..."
3) Select the "mail" tab.
4) If there are no accounts present, Please go to the next section of this FAQ called Connection Wizard.
5) If there is already an account and you are ready to change your email address, continue reading this section
6) Select the account by single-clicking on it.
7) Click the "Properties" button.
8) Under Mail Account, type in the name you would like to refer to this account by.
9) Name: Your name
(i.e. John Doe or ACME Sales)
10) Email address: Alias-you-chose@your-domain-name.com
(i.e. john@thedoes.com or sales@acme.com)
11) Click the "Servers" tab and input these settings:
Incoming email server type: POP (not IMAP)
12) Incoming mail (POP) server: mail.your-domain-name.com
(i.e. mail.thedoes.com or mail.acme.com)
13) Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: use the current settings from your ISP
(i.e. mail.attbi.com or mail.msn.com)
14) Account ID: alias-you-chose@your-domain-name.com
(i.e. john@thedoes.com or sales@acme.com)
15) Password: password-you-chose (case sensitive)
16) Press "OK"
17) Press "Close"
