Transfer domains away from Godaddy.com Print

  • 2

Since October 28th, 2006 new rules for transferring domains have improved your ability to transfer domains from one registrar to another. But Godaddy.com isn't making it real obvious. We can't blame them but we can make it easier for you to figure out how to do it. Follow these 3 easy steps and your domain name will be winging its way to expiry.com without delay.

To transfer a domain name from Godaddy.com to expiry.com follow these steps:

1) log into Godaddy.com and open your specific domain name that you want to transfer away.

2) in the top panel on that page you will see many options and at the bottom of the first column you will find a link to Authorization Code: Send by Email - click on that link and it will email the EPP Authorization code needed to apply for a transfer away from Godaddy.com. Make sure your Registered Owner and Administrator email addresses are current or else you'll never receive this information.

3) Go to expiry.com and purchase a Starter Package and select "Transfer" and enter the domain name and the EPP Authorization code you received from Godaddy.com. This will start an automated series of emails that you will need to approve as they come in. This process will take about 7 days to complete.
