My email account keeps filling up when I am forwarding emails. Print

Question: I am trying to figure out how to set up my email accounts so the emails are deleted after forwarding. We get a lot of fairly large files from customers and vendors and I meet or exceed my disk space allotment more often then I , and you, would like to. I read the help section but do not see a "delete after forwarding option.

 

Answer: there is an easy answer and fix to this. You should either have a "Forwarding Email" setup or an "Email Account" setup but not both for the same email address.

Obviously - if you are forwarding emails and never check the email account itself then you aren't actually using the email account to send emails - you are using the forwarding email destination as your primary email program. Having said that - it becomes obvious why you don't need both and only really need the forwarder.

So delete the email account in the control panel and leave the forwarder in place and you'll never run out of space because of emails again.
