Spam Database Lookup - find out why some people can't send you email Print

  • 0

If you are not able to receive emails sent by some people then their email is probably being blocked by our SPAM defenses that use Dynamic Remote Block Lists to determine if an email should be processed based on the reputation of the email server that sent it. The sending email server adminsitrator will have to remove themselves from these blocklists so that their email slients can reliably send emails to others.

The problem is that the sending email server is blacklisted as a "spammer".  The email server administrator can ask to have their email server removed from the blacklist.

Go to this site - http://dnsstuff.fastnext.com/  - and enter the IP address of the bounced email server into the "Spam Database Lookup" to check it against the top 100 bouncelists in the world that we also reference. If there is any RED dots on that page then click on them to follow through and see how your sending email server administrator can fix their email problem on a per bouncelist basis. I am certain they are blacklisted and need to have their email provider deal with the fact that they have a spammer on their email server and that specific spammer is affecting every other email account on the same server.

We only block emails from universally recognized spamming servers. It is the only way to prevent everyone from being drowned in emails. On a typical day the email server that your site sits on is bombarded without 3 million spam emails that we automatically reject. We actually let through about 30,000 emails in a day.

Our blacklist settings are updated daily to reflect a very dynamic spammer attack issue. We use industry standard software like Spamassassin and the block lists.
